First days with a Basenji puppy

First days with a Basenji puppy

A few weeks ago, my mom and sister went to pick up the dog we had been planning to get for a year. We named her Ansu.

She is now nine weeks old and her teeth are coming in, so she bites everything.

Even me. But it doesn't hurt. She has four modes: peeing, eating, sleeping, and Basenji frenzy. When Ansu goes into Basenji frenzy mode, her hunting instinct kicks in. She starts hunting, tugging at my stuffed animals, and biting everyone's ankles.

Ansu jumped onto the air track behind my sister and can't get off.

My sister is afraid of her, and my mom said that Ansu saw through all of us on the first day, so my dog has already started treating her like prey. When she has Basenji frenzy, she starts sprinting after my sister all over the house. And Ida, because she is afraid of her, runs away. Ansu is really fast. When she couldn't climb the stairs yet, my sister could hide upstairs, but now that Ansu runs up the stairs as fast as she runs across the floor, Ida has to jump onto high objects like beds or armchairs. My Basenji is wonderful, and when she's in sleep mode, she likes to curl up on my lap or my mom's lap.

When Ansu falls asleep, we put her in her bed, unless we don't plan on going anywhere. She is a very cuddly dog. And even though she sometimes whines at night to be cuddled, she is the most beloved dog on earth.
