My holidays

My holidays

I always go to my grandmother's house on Christmas Eve. We meet there with my cousins. I have three female cousins and one male cousin. It's no fun with my cousin because he's already an adult. I was also at my grandmother's house during the winter break. And it was a lot of fun. My mom, sister, and I arrived around breakfast time three days before Christmas Eve. Ola and Ula were already waiting for us. Ula is two years older than me, and Ola is three years younger than me. Grandma came out of the kitchen with a spoon in her hand and hugged me. Then we brought in our luggage. Our room was upstairs, Ula slept in her own room, Ola and Michał slept with Aunt Kasia in Grandma's room, and Grandma herself slept on the couch. When we unpacked, Ula suggested that we go to the garden to play in the snow.
I agreed and took a green apple from the hall. One for sledding, of course. We made a mini snowman and then rode around screaming.

When Grandma came out of the house to take a picture of us, she got snow on her nose because Ula, who was pulling me on the apple, made a sharp turn right in front of Grandma.

We knew it was about to get dangerous, so we ran away to the orchard. There, I got tangled up in the bushes

and pretended that a pheasant had killed me.

When we crossed the threshold of the house, we were wet as rags.

The next morning, my grandmother was washing her hair and putting in rollers. I liked that. A few minutes later, when I was in the bathroom, I saw that no one was using Grandma Jadzia's rollers. I flushed the toilet, took the bag with the rollers, and went to my grandmother.
“Grandma! Will you put rollers in my hair?”At first, my grandmother was surprised. But in the end, she agreed. My mother laughed that I was turning into an older woman in her fifties.

“To get the effect, you have to keep those rollers in for an hour,” my grandmother instructed me. I tried not to take the rollers out for that hour, but I quickly got bored. I took the rollers out and started playing the cymbals with Ola.

My mom told me to get dressed because we were going shopping with Ula. My older cousin really likes baking cakes, and I really like helping her, so when I heard that Ula was going to bake a cake for Christmas Eve, I immediately ran upstairs.

It was evening when we came back from shopping. I asked Ula what kind of cake she was going to bake. It was a biscuit cake with custard.

While the cake was in the oven, I started playing with Ola, making googly-eyed monsters. We stuck stickers on our eyes and fooled around.

On Christmas Eve morning, we caught our grandmother putting presents under the Christmas tree. When everyone got up, Ola and I wanted to open our presents right away, but our grandmother said we could do it after Christmas Eve dinner. We couldn't wait, so to pass the time, our aunt took us to the Old Town.

The table was full of delicious food.

When I finished eating, I started pestering my grandmother for presents again.
“We'll open them when everyone has eaten.”

Time dragged on, so to keep myself entertained, I started playing on the computer.
“We can open them!”
It was Ola. She ran up to me with a present in her hand and waved it around like crazy.

I got a battery-powered walking spider and a mug witha polar bear, hair ties, and some money. Mom got a necklace and slippers, which she later gave to me. When Grandma went to bed, I let the spider loose in the room and started laughing. Grandma called me a little rascal and told us to come visit her again sometime. I think she had nothing to worry about, because we visit her every vacation and every holiday.
